As this season draws to a close, I have been very blessed to see and chat with so many families again this year. Around 2,600 children visited me this year, with many first year Christmas babies, some even as young as four days old. The family tradition lives on.
The season began with the annual Christmas parade with lots of fire trucks to honor the Grand Marshall, Retired Fire Commissioner - James "Jim" Roth. It is always so great to see everyone come out for the parade! As I rode on an antique fire truck this year, I can almost know now where some families will be watching, along the parade route. Miss Hanover and her Court, as well as many children with decorated bikes and others joined in the festivities.
The lines at the Cabin were long at times this year, as everyone braved the elements and cold to visit. Thank you for your patience during that time. As I could hear, some children were rehearsing what they wished for this year while waiting, and then sometimes they would forget once inside the cabin. But rest assured, I am sure you will be surprised come Christmas morning. It is so wonderful for the families to come together and see all your smiling faces.
The town Christmas tree was larger than ever this year, and the tree lighting and program were great and well attended. Thanks to the Hanover Borough employees, Police and Fire Departments, and all others for the work they do. Also, the Hanover Christmas Committee, Lions, Exchange, Rotary and Kiwanis Clubs and all the volunteers that come together to make the Hanover community much brighter during the Christmas season.
In closing, continue throughout this next year to join together as family and friends and bring joy and happiness to all. Together, we can make this world a better place for our future generations.
Believe in the magic and may all your wishes come true……
